Remains found in Sewol Ferry identified as one of the missing students from Danwon High School

The third set of human remains found on the Sewol Ferry has been identified.

According to the officials on May 25, the remains found on the recovered Sewol Ferry has been identified as Cho Eun Hwa, a 17-year-old student from Danwon High School.

Back in March, the wrecked ship was retrieved and towed to the port of Mokpo. So far, three sets of human remains have been discovered during the investigation of the wrecked ship. The first has been identified as a female student from Danwon High School while the second revealed to be a teacher namedKo Chang Seok.

A second body from the Missing 9 Sewol Ferry tragedy has been discovered by the Onsite Rescue Team.

The remains of a skeleton were discovered inside the salvaged remains of the Sewol Ferry, on the 3rd floor.

According to the crew in charge, the body assumed to be who was staying on the central starboard (right) side of the ship.

The forensics team plans to uncover the identity of the person using a DNA test, dental records, and a test of the skeletons condition.

One of the Missing 9 childrens bodies have finally been found by the Sewol Ferry Onsite Rescue Team.

1,123 days after the Sewol Ferry disaster, the remains of 17-year-old student Jo Eun Hwa have been discovered.

Jo Eun Hwas remains were discovered near the back of the ship in room 4-11, with a bag that also belonged to her.

Her family has confirmed the identity of the remains through her dental records.

Jo Eun Hwas mother broke down when the Sewol Ferry was originally salvaged from the sea, looking for closure from the tragedy.
