5 K-Pop girl groups make it on Billboard's '100 Greatest Girl Group Songs Of All Time' List

Recently, Billboard revealed their list of the '100 Greatest Girl Group Songs Of All Time'. The list included five idol girl groups representing K-Pop.

Starting at number 88, first generation girl group Fin.K.L made their name known with the title song "Now" released in 2000.  Taking charge of 70th place was Red Velvet with "Dumb Dumb" released in 2015.  The description states, "There are pop hooks that grab you, and then there are hooks that strangle you and absolutely refuse to let go. Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb" epitomizes that latter, with the quirky quintet repeating the word "dumb" more than 200 times throughout this single..."  Standing strong at 59th was f(x)'s "Rum Pum Pum Pum" from 2013.

In K-pop, many artists come and go. There can be as many as 50 new groups debuting in one year. Many groups disband after only one release! These days if a group does not continuously promote, they will be soon forgotten about. This is a sad reality in K-pop.

However, there are some groups, who despite not promoting in Korea during long hiatuses, are still holding on together as a group. They may even randomly perform at events every so often. Some do better in Japan and decide to stay there. However, fans can't help but feel the ache to see them in Korea again.
