BTS is on 'FIRE' as they become the K-pop group with the most 2 million likes on music videos

BTS gained another 2 million likes on one of their music videos.

Their popular song "FIRE" is their fourth MV to reach such a feat. This is especially significant because they are the first and only K-pop group to have four music videos receive so many likes. It has only been a week since "Not Today" received 2 million likes as well and for them to reach this goal once again in such a short span of time is certainly amazing. If you'd like to see the video again or haven't yet, check out the clip above!

JTBC's 'Newsroom' breaks down profit distribution for song streaming on major music sites and finds artists only receive 6% of profit

On the August 21 airing of JTBC's 'Newsroom', the broadcast's 'Fact Check' segment dealt with profit distribution of song streaming on various major music sites in Korea.

The issue has been an ongoing debate since 2012 when Psy's "Gangnam Style", a song which earned worldwide fame that year, allegedly only earned an initial profit of 5,460,000 KRW (~ 4,800 USD) despite being streamed 27,300,000 times.

'Newsroom' then brought up a more current example - Heize's "You, Clouds, Rain", which maintained the #1 spot for streaming on music charts for the entire month of July. According to 'Newsroom', Heize's profit for remaining #1 on music sites and being streamed 6,450,000 times in July was approximately 2,700,000 KRW (~ 2,400 USD). While songs can also earn an additional profit for being downloaded on music sites, Korean music sites make it easier to simply stream music without downloading the songs.
