[Album & MV Review] Jessica – 'My Decade'

* This song has already been reviewed, and will not be covered here.

Jessica is back to celebrate her 10th anniversary as a recording artist, hence the new EP 'My Decade.' The mini-album has six tracks, the last of which is the previously released single "Its Spring."

The title track "Summer Storm" has that magic formula that makes a good pop song. I like this track because even though her voice soars all over it, the song is still down to earth and accessible. Too often these solo artists try for a mature, artsy sound, and it ends up leaving me cold. This felt warm and welcoming.

Jessica shares how Krystal reacted to her 10th-anniversary album 'My Decade'

Jessica talked about her sister Krystal in an interview with Xports News.

The singer recently made a comeback with 'My Decade' in celebration of her 10th-anniversary. Many questions were asked regarding Jessica's new album and one asked if she made Krystal listen to all of her songs.

Jessica answered, "Of course I did", and revealed, "Krystal said the title song isn't her style. She tends to like things that are not the mainstream. She actually liked the song 'Starry Night' I dedicated for my fans. She liked it so much that she asked me if that song could be the title track instead."

4. Swimming Fool (Performance Team)

8. Check-In (Remastering) (CD Only)

Seventeen is releasing its own special sequence of albums called the 2017 Seventeen Project. The new mini-album 'Al1' ("alone") kicks off this venture with 6 new songs, and two special CD only tracks. This is their fourth EP to date.

"Don't Wanna Cry" is much more a soft pop tune than anything else, and doesn't pop as much as I would expect for a title track. I was hoping for a jam, but this just left me cold. There are parts I like, but the soft voices were off-putting. I'm not sure what I was hoping for, but this just sounded flat to my ears.

[MV & Album Review] Dumbfoundead - 'Hyung/Foreigner'

After making a name for himself in the American battle rap scene, releasing a handful of mixtapes and albums, and dabbling in Korean guest features, Dumbfoundead made his official Korean market debut this month with the 'Foreigner' mini album.

Lead off by the bombastic "Hyung" single with accompaniment by Korean rap veterans, 'Foreigner' makes a statement and acts as a link between international music communities. DFD comes off a little bit angry, asserting himself with the same kind of vigor he showcased on his "It G Ma" remix guest verse. He continues to show dexterity with his lyrics, at one point rhyming "you're forever 21, never be a hyung" in a casual but effective way. The guest features elevate the song, with Dok2, Simon D and Tiger JK all taking turns behind the mic to boast and show their skills. In the song, Dumbfoundead tackles the respect thing in Korea about how younger males have to call older males hyung. He basically says that it doesn't matter if you're older, you only deserve the hyung title by earning respect.
