'Kingdom' is gearing up for its first production shoot in mid-October. The 8-episode series,a production by writerKim Eun Heeand directorKim Sung Hoon, will also be produced by 'Netflix', marking the global streaming service's first original Korean drama.

Key East Entertainment stated, Joo Ji Hoon has received an offer for Kingdom and is looking over the script.

Prain TPC also stated that Ryu Seung Ryong has also received a casting offer and is looking over the drama. They commented, However this does not mean he is confirmed for the drama. He will decide after thoroughly looking over the drama and speaking with the production team.

Bae Doona has also received an offer for the drama and her agency has also stated that she is also currently positively looking over the script.

'Kingdom' will add a zombie aspect to the traditional Korean historical drama, where a prince of Joseon uncovers a secret that could threaten the entire country when he investigates an epidemic.
