Bae Yong Joon Took Action Against Media Outlet Spreading False Rumors

Bae Yong Joon and Park Soo Jin

The news that Bae Yong Joon would wed actress Park Soo Jin prompted congratulations, but it also started some rumors.

After denying the rumors, Key East Entertainment, the agency that represents both Bae Yong Joon and Park Soo Jin threatened to take legal action against any media outlet that spread them. They were forced to take legal action against one media outlet and have since reached an agreement.

Bae, 42, announced that he was marrying Park, 29, in May. The news was surprising since the couple had only dated since February of 2015. They met when she joined Key East Entertainment in 2014. After the couple announced their engagement, there was some speculation about a possible pregnancy, which the agency denied.

"It is not a shotgun wedding," Key East representatives told Naver TV.

A spokesperson for the agency said that the couple knew they were right for each other right away and wanted to marry as soon as possible.

When the couple first announced their wedding plans, they mentioned a fall ceremony, but the wedding is now taking place on July 27. When the wedding date was pushed forward, it prompted a new set of pregnancy rumors. Key East denied those rumors too and recently spoke with the Korean media outlet Joongang Daily about the reason behind the July wedding date.

"The date of the ceremony was scheduled after discussion with each celebrity"s parents, and therefore has nothing to do with Park"s pregnancy. That is not even true."

According to a July 16 report in the Joongang Daily, Key East reached an agreement with the media outlet that spread rumors but they will pursue legal action against anyone else who spreads them.

Bae Yong Joon became a star when he appeared in the k-drama "Winter Sonata," which has been credited as launching the Hallyu. The actor became so beloved in Japan that he acquired the nickname Yon-Sama. He is a majority shareholder in Key East Entertainment.

Park Soo Jin, 29, was formerly a member of the k-pop girl group Sugar, which also included actress Hwang Jung Eum. Her recent drama roles include playing Park Shin Hye"s funny frenemy in "Flower Boys Next Door" and Mo Seol in "The Blade and the Petal."

Bae and Park plan to marry at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel and honeymoon in Korea.

Dal Shabet & B1A4′s agencies ask fans to stop spreading false rumors

Dal Shabet & B1A4′s agencies ask fans to stop spreading false rumors

Dal ShabetB1A4s agencies ask fans to stop spreading false rumors

Despite the efforts of police officials whove stepped in to douse the heated fanwar between Dal Shabets Darlings and B1A4 Banas, the groups zealous fans have showed no signs of stopping. As such, the agencies of both artists have decided to release official statements to finally put the matter to rest once and for all.

On January 11th, Happy Face Entertainment and WM Entertainment left statements on their official fancafes and Twitters, asking fans to stop spreading false rumors.

In a joint statement, the companies expressed:

When the controversy (with its subsequent scandals and rumors) erupted at the Idol Star Athletics Championships, the initial stance from both companies was to step back and wait for it to quiet down instead of stepping in and handling the matter ourselves.

Unfortunately, we were unable to stay quiet due to the false stories that were being spread, which is why were releasing an official statement now.

We feel that what has happened is very unfortunate, and we both hope that no further controversies will arise from this point on.

Following this notice, we ask that Banas and Darlings no longer create controversies and use this case as an opportunity to support each other and grow as fandoms.

As you all know, the fanclub is considered the image of the artist. It is not just a gathering. We hope that youll remember that in your heart as you read this. Instead of leaving wounds in the hearts of others, please lend your support and care for each other with love. We trust that this will help both groups and their fanclubs grow.

B1A4 and Dal Shabet both debuted in 2011 amidst much love. It was because of that love that they were able to grow this much. Please consider what has happened as a sort of growing pain to becoming better artists and fanclubs that are loved by many.
