After a string of successful dates throughout the country, he touched down at New York City's fresh venue the Barclays Center for a several hour extravaganza of a show, complete with everything from shifting stage parts to pyrotechnics. He showed off a mix of solo material both new and old, and enraptured fans with his powerful performance and commanding stage presence.

G-Dragon of boy band Big Bang launched his solo world tour with a performance for 40,000 adoring fans at World Cup Stadium in Seoul on Saturday. The show followed the release of his first solo album in four years.

The concert, which took in W4.4 billion in ticket sales, will likely be one of the singer's last in Seoul before he is drafted (US$1=W1,125).

Unable to tear themselves away after the 21-song, two-hour show, the fans launched into an a cappella version of G-Dragon's 2009 hit "1 Year Station" in the dark. After five minutes, the singer returned to the stage and performed a three-song encore including his new track "Untitled, 2014". Although the song was released just three days earlier, the fans knew it by heart and sang it with him.

G-Dragon will be releasing his solo album before kicking off his "G-Dragon 2017 Concert: Act III, M.O.T.T.E," world tour this June 10. This was confirmed by YG Entertainment through a statement.

According to Soompi, G-Dragon will be releasing his solo album "Act III: MOTTE" before he embarks on his 19 city world tour. It was originally planned for the BIG BANG leader to have a major concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the album but due to strong demand, the concert expanded to a world tour in no time. For the Seoul leg of the concert on June 10, G-Dragon sold out all 65,000 tickets for the venue in just eight minutes.
