Show Me The Money 6 Sees Return Of Contestants Double K, Junoflo, Microdot, And More For Auditions

Auditions for Show Me the Money 6 are under way. The first auditions were held on April 29 and 30 at the Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon.

This season is making history, with a record number of over 12,000 rappers auditioning for the show, including first generation Korean hip hop musicians as well as up-and-coming rappers in the scene.

Previously, it was revealed that P-Type, Digili, MC Hansai, Nucksal, Kebee, Penomeco, and Yang Hong Won (Young B) were auditioning, and during the on-site applications held this weekend, it was revealed that Double K and Truedy applied, as well. Double K is the winner of the first season of Show Me the Money, while Truedy is the winner of the second season of Unpretty Rapstar.

On June 23, a special episode of Show Me The Money 6 aired, giving viewers a glimpse at whats to come. Many familiar faces and names appeared in the episode, such as Show Me The Money producer Double K, Nucksal, Penomeco, Junoflo, Boi B, P-Type, One Sun, and more.

High School Rapper winner Yang Hong Won also made an appearance during the episode; and when American Grammy award-winning artist Swizz Beats heard his rap, he commented, I think youre going to win. Youre the superstar that I was looking for. Meanwhile, former Unpretty Rapstar contestant Trudy made an appearance in the episode as well.

YG Entertainment signs two PDs from 'Show Me The Money'

YG Entertainment has recruited 2 more PDs, in order to implement their plans to take on more tv productions in the future.

It's been revealed on April 21 that two PDs from Mnet's 'Show Me The Money', Lee Sang Yoon PD and Choi Hyo Jin PD, have decided to leave Mnet, finding a new home under YG Entertainment instead. The label also signed Park Jun Soo PD of Mnet's 'God of Music' last January.

On April 21, a source stated that Choi Hyo Jin PD (producing director) from Show Me The Money 5 recently signed on with YG Entertainment.

It has also been reported that after Choi Hyo Jin PD signed with YG Entertainment, other Mnet PDs followed in her footsteps. A contract is said to be imminent with Han Dong Chul PD, who managed YG Entertainments survival variety shows such as WIN and Mix Match.

Other Mnet PDs reportedly joining YG Entertainment include Park Joon Soo PD of mockumentary show God of Music, and Lee Sang Yoon PD, also from Show Me The Money. A powerful contents production team is said to be forming with these recent additions.

For Show Me the Money 5, approximately 9,000 people auditioned to have a chance to compete on the show. Show Me the Money 6, has over 12,000 people interested in auditioning for the show—the largest applicant pool the show has ever had.
