East Coast Beaches Start to Open for Summer

Ninety-three beaches along the east coast of Gangwon Province are opening their doors to welcome holidaymakers this summer.

Donghae opened six beaches in the city on Wednesday including Mangsang Beach. Gangneung, Sokcho, and Yangyang will open their beaches on Friday, and Samcheok and Goseong on July 14. They aim to attract 30 million visitors, up 5 million from last year, and will stay open until Aug. 20.

Various events are planned to entertain holidaymakers visiting the region. Beach volleyball and soccer competitions will take place in Mangsang Beach from July 21, and a rock festival on July 30.

Summer Bookings for Han River Campsites Start

In a sign that summer has arrived, city officials in Seoul on Friday began taking bookings for public campsites along the Han River in Seoul.

The campsites are very popular summer getaway destinations among city residents, with tents set up for campers' convenience.

This year the campsites will be available from July 7 to Aug. 20. A total of 430 tents will be provided: 200 in Yeouido, 130 in Ttukseom, and 100 in Jamwon. The fees are W25,000 on weekends and holidays, and W15,000 on weekdays (US$1=W1,123).

New girl group Good Day open up official Twitter account and start teasing for their debut!

Good Day is gearing up for their hot debut!

On July 6, the new girl group by C9 Entertainment opened up an official Twitter account and shared their first teaser images. Out of the 10 members, Genie and Nayoon are first to greet fans in beautiful cuts. The photos also reveal that Good Day is debuting with ''Morning'' on August 31.

Actor Lee Min Ho to start military duties in May

Actor Lee Min Ho will be starting up his military duties this May.

On April 18, his agency MYM Entertainment stated, "Lee Min Ho will start his military service as a public service worker at the Gangnam District Office in Seoul on May 12. He plans to enlist privately. He's been given a place as a public service employee due to his car accidents in 2006 and 2011."

Lee Min Ho's last project was the SBS drama 'The Legend of the Blue Sea' this past January. He'll be featured in the upcoming MBCdocumentary 'DMZ, The Wild'. He's also currently dating idol star Suzy.
