Girls Generation Claims Best Spot on Billboards International Albums Chart

Girls’ Generation Claims Best Spot on Billboard’s International Albums Chart Girls’ Generation gained first position on Billboard’s International Album Chart with their newest album “Lion Heart” this week.

Most notably, Billboard said that Girls’ Generation is the 6th K-Pop act to receive first position no less than two times at the Billboard International Album Chart. Previously, the gang placed first with their 2013 hit “I were given a Boy.” Interestingly, they also discussed that 4 out of six a couple of first position K-Pop acts are from SM Entertainment. These other teams from SM Entertainment are TaeTiSeo, SHINee, and EXO. but even so these 4 teams of the similar agency, G-Dragon and B.A.P have placed first more than once.

Their good fortune expands beyond Billboard, as the lady group’s double identify tracks “Lion Heart” and “You Think” are either first and 2d position among YouTube’s K-Pop Tune Video Chart Best 20 (August 17-23). Likewise, they completed the similar effects on China’s YinYueTai V Chart (August 17-23).

The popular woman team lately won their first trophy for “Lion Heart” on SBS MTV’s “The Show.” We will suppose that more first position trophies may be heading their way in the days to come.

Also, VIXX LR placed 2d at the similar Billboard International Album Chart.

Winner Does It Again and Takes the Number One Spot of Billboard World Album Chart

YG’s rookie group WINNER (members Kang Seung Yoon, Lee Seung Hoon, Song Min Ho, Nam Tae Hyun, and Kim Jin Woo) continue their winning streak, having nabbed the number one spot on Billboard’s World Album Chart with their new—and first—album “2014 S/S.”

The album was released this past August 12, and has been on a successful trip towards numerous victories on multiple music charts and music shows. The fact that this rookie group got the top spot in their first week of release is a big achievement. Though it is not in the top 200 list of the main Billboard Chart, this achievement is garnering much attention because it was through competition with music albums all over the world outside of the United States.

Meanwhile, their first title song, “Empty,” took the number one spot on numerous charts, and even brought home their first music show win on the most recent episode of Mnets M!Countdown that aired August 21 (you can view it here). Their next performance will be on the upcoming episode of SBS “Inkigayo” set to air on August 25. Their music video can be seen below.

Roy Kim's 'Bom Bom Bom' Soars To One Spot On Billboard's K-Pop 100 Chart Despite Plagiarism Charges: Psy's 'Gentleman' Sinks To Number Four [VIDEO] Roy Kims song Bom Bom Bom has overtaken Psy and Cho Yong Pil to become the number one song on this weeks Billboards Korea K-Pop 100 Chart, amidst recent charges that the song was plagiarized.Roy Kim's song 'Bom Bom Bom' has overtaken Psy and Cho Yong Pil to become the number one song on this week's Billboard's Korea K-Pop 100 Chart, amidst recent charges that the song was plagiarized.

Psy, who is currently in the U.S. on a promotional tour, sinks to number four on the charts with "Gentleman" behind Cho Yong Pil's "Bounce" and Akdong Musician's"I Love You," a new addition to the K-Pop Billboard chart.

On Wednesday, a spokesman for Roy Kim responded to K-pop fans charging that he had plagiarized Kim Kwang Suk's "Where The Wind Blows" and A-ha's 1980s classic "Take On Me," as originally reported on the website Soomi.

"Saying that Roy Kim's 'Bom Bom Bom' is plagiarized is a ridiculous accusation," Roy Kim's spokesperson said. "We asked experts and after they analyzed it, they said that this is not a case of plagiarism."

"Roy Kim did reveal that Kim Kwang Suk is one of his favorite artists, but these plagiarism accusations do not make sense."

But many K-pop fans weren't buying it. Several even created a "RoJinYo" site shot for "We Demand The Truth From Roy Kim."

But Roy Kim's fans stuck up for the chart-topping artist on Soomi's comment board.

"Poor Roy!" wrote Thuyster on Thursday. "He was so excited to release his own song only to have it accused of plagiarism."

K-pop fan Therslyl breaks the whole thing down.

"The beginnings of Aha's and Roy's chorus have three notes that are the same," she wrote. "That is it as far as 'plagiarism' in the song goes. And Kwang Suk's song has the same style, but that's like saying all country songs are plagiarisms of each other."

Meanwhile, "K-Pop Star 2" reality show winners Akdong Musician have got to be enjoying watching their song "I Love You" crack Billboard's K-pop top five.

The brother-sister duo whose song is at number three, reportedly headed to Mongolia for a vacation on April 20, where their parents work as missionaries.

"Both my brother and I exhausted a lot of energy," Akdong Musician's Soo Hyun said last month on the radio show SBS Power FM Young Street. "We want to rest. And it's been over a year since we were home, so we want to go visit home...we're going to be riding horses and eating Mongolian food."

Do you feel Roy Kim's song was plagiarized? Decide for yourself. Check out the "Bom Bom Bom" video below and the two videos K-pop fans feel it is plagiarizing and let us know what you think in the comments section.
