EXO's Latest Album Sweeps Music Charts at Home and Abroad

K-pop boy band EXO swept music charts as soon as their fourth album was released on Wednesday.

The title track of the album moved straight to the top of major Korean music streaming sites, including Melon and Naver Music, and also topped iTunes charts in over 40 countries around the world.

The nine-member band's latest album came out just one month after their worldwide tour, which wrapped up in June. There were 800,000 pre-orders for the album. All of their three previous albums sold over 1 million copies.

As of 7 p.m. KST on August 7, the groups title track Energetic took first on the six main music sites Melon, Genie, Bugs, Mnet, Naver, and Soribada. Burn It Up placed second on Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Naver, third on Soribada, and fourth on Mnet. The other three tracks also placed in the top 10 of most of the charts.

BIGBANGs G-Dragon released his solo album Kwon Ji Yong and the music video for title track Untitled, 2014 at 6 p.m. KST on June 8. An hour after release, Untitled, 2014 achieved a real-time all-kill, topping seven realtime music charts including Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Naver Music. The other four tracks on the album also ranked high, all being in the top ten of most charts.
