The singer looked amazing in a traditional black tuxedo as he accepted his award onstage amid the screams and cheers of his fans. He went on the express his thanks and his hopes to one day film a movie in Japan.

One of the judges praised his looks and charisma, saying he had an aura of James Bond. The multi-talented artist certainly did have a more sophisticated look than we are accustomed to seeing in his music videos and onstage performances. The tuxedo only served to accentuate his classic good looks and charming smile.

Kim Hyun Joong also participated in the event by performing on the festivals music stage. His audience was made up of around 2,000 people. The lucky crowd was treated to a song list which included hits like Im Yours and Heat.

The singer and actor has enjoyed great success in Japan over the years in both music sales and concerts. He recently closed out his final concert in Japan with tears, thanking the Japanese fans for their support.

Hyun Joong said he would like to shoot a feature film in Japan.

The action star turns 59 on Sunday.

"Thank you so much for this award, which is very encouraging. I'm so happy that you love 'Chinese Zodiac,' which I spent six years preparing and one year filming."

The filmmakers of "Chinese Zodiac (CZ12)" and "The Happy Life of Debbie" each were awarded prizes of $10,600 or 1 million yen. They won awards in the festival's categories of "Laugh " and "Peace" respectively.

Yoshimoto Kogyo, who owns a major talent agency in Japan, created the festival.

Hyun Joong also performed for two thousand fans on the Okinawa International Movie Festival's main stage, at the Project Creators Factory ceremony.

Dressed in a black tuxedo, Kim played a dozen songs including the hits "Heat," "U" and "I'm Yours."

"He has an aura of James Bond, the likes of which are rarely seen in Japan," said Okinawa International Movie Festival Judge Okuyama. "Hes a handsome man like Yujiro Ishihara and Keiichiro Akagi."

And while it might not be a Japanese feature film, Hyun Joong will join Eunhyuk, SBS and Yoon Shi Yoon for the follow-up to "K-Pop Star 2" scheduled to premiere on April 21.

The television program, which is reportedly a variety show, also features Yoo Se Yoon, Lee Su Geun, Kim Bum Soo and Yoon Jong Shin and is produced by Jang Hyuk Jae of "Family Outing" fame.

The first episode will reportedly be shot in Laos this week, with Hyun Joong and the other stars heading to the area on Thursday.
