PSY is continuing to make headlines with his 5-year-old hit song "Gangnam Style." Recently, the Korean Government used tax payers money to make a statue in his honor, both the outrageous price shocked both PSY and fans of the song and singer.

The sculpture is reportedly worth a whopping 400,000,000 KRW, which is equal to approximately $357,142 USD. Can you say crazy? The statue was built last year at Gangnam's major tourist attraction, 'COEX.' PSY reacted as anyone would expect and revealed his thoughtson the statue during an interview with Ilgan Sportson July 24th.

A golden statue featuring the iconic 'horse dance' hand motions from Psy 's hit song "Gangnam Style" was established at COEX last year. The sculpture is reportedly worth 400,000,000 KRW, which is equal to approximately 357,142 USD.

What are Psy's thoughts on this? Does he approve?

On July 24, Ilgan Sports sat down with the world star for an exclusive interview. Psy honestly stated, "I think it's just too much. It's also funny how they only created the hands."  

He then went on to explain, "I understand that everyone was so hyped and excited after the song went viral but this is my occupation after all. I didn't do it for the country or anything. I really appreciate the fact that they used tax money to create this but I really think it's just too much."

Gangnam Style went viral online in 2012 and has hit 2.8 billion views on Youtube, making it the worlds most watched video in May 2017.

Gangnam style has been both a blessing and a curse for PSY.

The hit song gave PSY international recognition but with his fame came some trials.

In a recent episode of JTBC‘s Knowing Bros, the artist revealed that he worried that he would not live up to peoples expectations and had difficulty not comparing his new releases to the global hit.

Taeyeon was spotted with a nose piercing at her recent solo concert, but revealed that it was fake.

Taeyeon recently held her solo concert Persona in Seoul, and fans noticed she had a small nose piercing.

They asked her whether she had really pierced her nose or not, to which Taeyeon first teased them by vaguely saying, Well, its on my nose right here!

She then confessed that the piercing was fake, and that she was too scared to get a real piercing.

It's been edged out by Wiz Khalifafeat. Charlie Puth's"See You Again". At the time of writing, "See You Again" has2,894,526,001 views while "Gangnam Style" has2,894,182,054.

Still, "Gangnam Style" stayed at #1 for an impressive 1,691 days and will always remain the first ever video to hit over 1 billion views on YouTube.
