First episode of 'Idol School' starring Super Junior's Heechul and Lee Soon Jae receives broadcast date

The first episode of Mnet's 'Idol School' has been confirmed to air on July 13.

According to an exclusive scoop by Sports Donga, the broadcast date has been confirmed but they're still deciding on the time slot. The staff members are deciding whether to air it after 'I Can Hear Your Voice 4' or at a later time around 11 pm KST.

'Idol School' will take place at English Village in Paju. The location was most recently used for 'Produce 101'. The students of the show will go through 11-week training and the top students will be debuting in a girl group after graduation.

Mnets girl group school project Idol School is taking shape!

Mnet said on June 16, Idol School will air its first episode on July 13. The time slot is yet to be determined. The show was going initially going to air in the place of I Can See Your Voice 4, but now they are looking at a variety of different possible time slots.

Meanwhile, Idol School will be Koreas first girl group education institution. Students will undergo 11 weeks of training and after graduation, the top students will debut as a girl group right away in the second half of 2017.

Mnet's 'Idol School' students wished their teacher Super Junior'sHeechul a happy birthday!

On July 10, the day of his 35th birthday (34th internationally), Heechul wrote on his Instagram page, "Idol School is truly moving. Like the character from 'Great Teacher Onizuka',I will do my best to become a heart-warming teacher. #GTO #GTH #GreatTeacherHEENIM," and shared a video clip of all 41 'Idol School' girls singing the happy brithday song!

Broadcasted on September 22, Super Junior's Heechul took the time to give some helpful advice to the students of Mnet's 'Idol School'.

Heechul commented, "Once you make your debut, there will be times when you will lose confidence. It's the same for me as well. I want to live the way I want but I can't." He playfully added, "Like now, I am a person who gets entirely edited out on 'Idol School'."
