G-Dragon Rises With Untitled, 2014; Soompi’s K-Pop Music Chart 2017, June Week 4

G-Dragons Untitled, 2014 moves up nine spots to take over as our new No. 1 song this week! Due to the fact that G-Dragons album is in USB format and he did not come out to promote this song, Untitled, 2014 wasnt listed on some of our chart sources. However, it managed to win on Inkigayo and Music Core last week. Overall, it was enough to capture our top spot. Congratulations to G-Dragon!

Switching spots at No. 2 and 3 from last week are TWICEs SIGNAL and SEVENTEENs Don’t Wanna Cry.

There are three new songs in the top 10 this week. Debuting at No. 4 is IU’s Can’t Love You Anymore. This song is the second pre-released single from IU’s fourth studio album. It is an RB ballad featuring indie artist Oh Hyuk. IU has just released her fourth album Palette yesterday. The title song of the same name featuring G-Dragon was just released, so Can’t Love You Anymore may have a short stay on our chart.

PSY Reigns With I LUV IT; Soompis K-Pop Music Chart 2017, May Week 4

PSYs I LUV IT is the new No. 1 song this week! Five years ago, Gangnam Style took the world by storm, so its no surprise that the title songs of his new album have immediately become chart topping hits. I LUV IT won on Inkigayo and on M!Countdown last week, and is also ranked high on all chart sources. Congratulations to PSY!

I LUV IT is one of two title songs from PSYs eighth album 42=8. PSY is teaming up with Block Bs Zico for the first time in composing this song. Its a delightful electronic house style song, and the lyrics also show PSYs sensitive characteristic as well as an exciting hook.

TWICE Soars To Top Spot With Signal; Soompi’s K-Pop Music Chart 2017, June Week 1

TWICEs new song SIGNAL jumped all the way from No. 12 to No. 1 this week. After sweeping all the music show wins last week, it is no surprise that SIGNAL becomes our new No. 1 song this week. SIGNAL is only four points shy of a perfect 1000 score, sharing the hottest trending artist honor with SEVENTEEN on our Soompi Airplay. Congratulations to TWICE!

SIGNAL is the title song from TWICEs fourth mini-album of the same name. Written by Park Jin Young, who collaborated with TWICE for the first time on a title song, SIGNAL has a groovy sound and an intense hip-hop rhythm; it is quite different from TWICEs previous hit songs. It shows a more fierce and vibrant side of TWICE.
