[Hot Takes from the Noonas] JYJ's Kim Jae-joong and UEE confirmed as leads for "Manhole: Feel So Good"

The latest time travel drama from KBS has nailed down its leads as Kim Jae-joong and UEE sign on.

I'm not sure I can get past the title of this drama, but let me give it a try: "Manhole: Feel So Good" tells the story of Bong-pil (Kim Jae-joong), an unemployed man who mooches off his parents while pretending to study for the civil service exam. Bong-pil time travels into the past (through a manhole?) in an effort to stop the wedding of his lifelong crush, Soo-jin (UEE), set to happen one week into the future.

[Hot Takes from the Noonas] JYJ's Kim Jae-joong and UEE confirmed as leads for "Manhole - DRama"

The latest time travel drama from KBS has nailed down its leads as Kim Jae-joong and UEE sign on.

"Manhole - Drama" tells the story of Bong-pil (Kim Jae-joong), an unemployed man who mooches off his parents while pretending to study for the civil service exam. Bong-pil time travels into the past (through a manhole?) in an effort to stop the wedding of his lifelong crush, Soo-jin (UEE), set to happen one week into the future.

Shades of "Operation Proposal" notwithstanding, "Manhole - Drama" sounds pretty entertaining, especially with Kim Jae-joong taking on what sounds like a comedic role with the unmotivated but lovestruck, Bong-pil. Kim Jae-joong's last drama was 2015's "Spy - Drama", but he hasn't been in a comedy since his wooden performance in "Protect the Boss" in 2011.

[Hot Takes from the Noonas] tvN courts Kim Nam-gil and Kim Ah-joong for time travel medical drama

After four years away from the small screen, Kim Nam-gil's comeback project might be tvN's latest drama with Kim Ah-joong.

On May 11th, cable network tvN announced plans to produce a new drama to air in July, with offers out to Kim Nam-gil and Kim Ah-joong to star. If he accepts, Kim Nam-gil will be cast as a Joseon-era doctor of traditional medicine who is frustrated in his career by his status as the son of a concubine. He travels forward in time to modern-day Seoul where he meets a medical doctor (Kim Ah-joong, if she accepts), who hides her secrets underneath a cold exterior.

[Hot Takes from the Noonas] Lee Seong-kyeong and Nam Joo-hyuk are dating

After being outed by Korean gossip site, Dispatch, Lee Seong-kyeong and Nam Joo-hyuk confirmed through their agency that they've been dating for the past five months.

According to their agency, YG Entertainment, the two of them had been friends since their modelling days. The pair had also appeared together in "Cheese in the Trap" prior to their turn in "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo".

I'm no math expert, but five months places the start of their relationship in December, midway through the filming of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo". Lee Seong-kyeong starred as the titular weight-lifting fairy, while Nam Joo-hyuk played the best friend with whom she falls in love. In a case of real life mirroring art, the couple not only went from friends to lovers onscreen, but also in real life as the drama progressed. Maybe that's why they had so much chemistry?
