iKON is #1 on Oricon's Weekly Album Chart

iKON was able to snag first place on Oricon's Weekly Album Chart for the week of August 28.

On August 22, Oricon released their weekly album chart rankings, and iKON's Japanese mini album 'NEW KIDS: BEGIN' popped up in first place.  This was even more meaningful as the list featured full studio albums as opposed to singles.  A total of 34,998 albums were sold within the first week.

Prior to this, iKON demonstrated their power in Japan by topping Oricon's daily chart in addition to other music charts.

iKON Tops Oricons Weekly Chart With New Kids: Begin

iKON has taken the top spot on Oricon’s weekly chart with their latest mini album!

The YG Entertainment group’s mini album “New Kids: Begin” made its debut on the Oricon weekly chart for the week of August 28 at No. 1. It’s estimated by Oricon that 34,998 units of the album have been sold.

The Japanese edition of their mini album was released on August 16, and also took first place on Oricon’s daily chart. It includes the double title tracks “BLING BLING” and “B-DAY” that were released in Korea this past May.

According to Oricon, BLACKPINK placed first on its most recent weekly album chart with their first Japanese debut album. Since the albums physical release on August 30, there have been an estimated 30,900 copies sold.

BLACKPINK is reportedly the third foreign artist to record first place on Oricons weekly album chart with a debut release, after Russian duo t.A.T.U. and 2NE1.

BTS placed No. 1 on Oricons weekly chart, selling 238,795 copies of their new Japanese single Blood, Sweat Tears. This makes BTS the fastest overseas group to achieve weekly sales of over 200,000 copies, as it has been only 2 years and 11 months since their Japanese debut.

Oricon Style explained, This is the shortest amount of time any overseas artist has taken since their Japanese debut to break weekly single sales of 200,000 copies. This is also their second time taking first place on the weekly single chart.

Seventeen and iKON spotted in the top 10 on Worldwide iTunes Album Chart!

Seventeen and iKON have been spotted on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart on May 23!

The Seventeen boys, who made a comeback on May 22 with their 4th mini album 'Al1', have nestled into 5th place on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart, 2 days after the album's release. Likewise, iKON's new single album 'New Kids: Begin', also released on May 22, takes up the 8th spot.

Congratulations to Seventeen, iKON, and their fans for being on the chart alongside international pop artists!
