In the interview, Park Chan Wook mentioned a new generation of Korean directors such as Yeon Sang Ho, who directed Train to Busan. Directors who are on the rise as well as directors from my generation are being discovered through film festivals. When I see their development and creativity through their films, I get very emotional. I think its proof that we have something to be proud of.

Kang Dong Won turns down role for 'Burning' film

It appears actor Kang Dong Won will not be appearing in directorLee Chang Dong's upcoming film'Burning', despite having looked over the script.

According toreports on July 7, Kang Dong Won has rejected the offer to star in 'Burning'.The film revolves around the story of a wealthy man and a delivery man who try to win the heart of a woman, and is based on Japanese author Haruki Murakami's novel 'Norwegian Wood'.

Originally, actors Kang Dong Won and Yoo Ah Inwere cast for the leading roles, stirring up commotion. However, Kang Dong Won has made the final decision to turn down the role.

Actor Kang Dong Won recently attended the 16th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), where he took home the Star Asia Award.

The festival posted an official announcement regarding this honor through social media, and also shared a live video of the actor actually receiving the award.

"A Taxi Driver" is the true story of an ordinary taxi driver named Kim Sa-bok and a German reporter who covered the incident of Gwangju 5.18.

Kim Man-sup is an ordinary taxi driver with an 11 year-old daughter named Eun-jeong (Yoo Eun-mi). He struggles with debt until one day a German reporter offers him 100,000 won for driving him to Gwangju and back.
