Jaden Smiths recent posts on social media are proof-positive that he is a big K-Pop fan!

Late last year, Hollywood actor, artist, and model, Jaden Smith, proclaimed that he wanted to become a K-Pop star. Many people were caught off-guard by his statement and wondered whether or not he was serious, but he soon put speculation to rest by stating that it would be one of his goals for 2017.

The reception of Jaden Smiths goal to become a K-Pop star has been mixed, but fans have begun to notice that he seems to be genuinely interested in K-Pop as he has been sharing and re-tweeting various K-Pop songs and connecting with some of K-Pops biggest names.

Jaden Smith recently tweeted that he is planning to release a K-pop single in the next four months. This isnt the first time a Western artist is trying to break into the K-pop scene but, as a Western black artist partaking in culture that is not native to his own, there has been a lot of dissent with this news. K-pop is primarily seen as a concept strongly rooted in the country that it takes its name from. That is, K-pop is very much seen as an East Asian product as a few popular groups have non-Korean but East Asian members.
