On the July 29th episode of 'Knowing Brothers', Kim Jong Kook said, "'Knowing Brothers' is my last school," and Heechul responded, "You should quit 'Running Man'." 'Sparta' Kim Jong Kook then revealed, "I almost quit once because of someone," pointing out Kang Ho Dong.

He poked fun at Kang Ho Dong, saying, "On your way home, you should get a notification." This past February, 'Running Man' underwent some controversy for blind-siding Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo about their leave from the show.

He stated, "I only found out later," explaining he noticed Yoo Jae Suk at the fan meeting when fans started sharing photos from the event. As for his thoughts on the 'Nation's MC', Kim Jong Kook stated, "He's a good person, but he's not the one who raised me in this industry."
