Kim Nam Gil and Kim Ah Joong have been confirmed for new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama, 'Fame is Earned for a Reason' (working title)!

Kim Nam Gil will be playing the role of Heo Im, a doctor in 17th century Joseon, while Kim Ah Joong will be playing the role of Choi Yeon Kyung, a 21st century doctor. The drama will be a fantasy medical genre, in which Heo Im experiences an accident and travels almost 400 years in time to end up in 21st century Seoul. Heo Im is also a real historical figure from the Joseon era, coined one of the medical forefathers of Korea.

Actors Kim Ah Joong and Kim Nam Gil are in talks for an upcoming tvN drama called Theres Always a Reason for Fame (literal title).

On May 11, tvN confirmed that Kim Ah Joong and Kim Nam Gil have received casting offers and are positively reviewing them. The drama will begin production in August.

If Kim Nam Gil accepts the offer, he will be returning to the small screen after four years.

Theres Always a Reason for Fame is a fantasy medical drama that centers around a man from the Joseon Dynasty who is skilled in acupuncture but has to live with a low status for being born to a concubine. He then travels 400 years into the future and meets a cold modern practitioner.

After four years away from the small screen, Kim Nam-gil's comeback project might be tvN's latest drama with Kim Ah-joong.

On May 11th, cable network tvN announced plans to produce a new drama to air in July, with offers out to Kim Nam-gil and Kim Ah-joong to star. If he accepts, Kim Nam-gil will be cast as a Joseon-era doctor of traditional medicine who is frustrated in his career by his status as the son of a concubine. He travels forward in time to modern-day Seoul where he meets a medical doctor (Kim Ah-joong, if she accepts), who hides her secrets underneath a cold exterior.
