Lee Hyori's episode of 'Radio Star' ranks 2nd highest in show's history

Lee Hyori has proven her extreme popularity with viewers after her episode of 'Radio Star' pulled in the second highest in ratings since the MBC talk show started. 

According to Nielsen, 'Radio Star' rated 8.8% for the first half of the show, and the latter half AT 8.7%. This broadcast comes in second after guest appearances from an episode featuring actor Ahn Jae Wook, Jung Sung Hwa, and Lee Ji Hoon as guests rated 9.1%. 

This special episode of 'Radio Star' focused on 'Boss Sisters, Legendary Sisters' with singers Lee Hyori, Kahi, Narsha and Chae Rina.

The episode on August 9 with Wanna One as guests recorded 1.8% in ratings (for cable channels), which is the highest in 'Weekly Idol' history since the show started on July 23, 2011. It's even double that of the previous week'sTurboepisode ratings, which was 0.9%

The newest episode of MBC Every1s Show Champion on August 17 hit record high viewership ratings.

The latest episode brought in a rating of 1.218 percent nationwide, and a 1.772 percent rating amongst metropolitan women. This is the shows highest ratings as of yet, since it first aired on February 14, 2012. This episode also brought the highest viewership ratings for women in their teens to 40s specifically.

Super Juniors Kyuhyun Says Tearful Goodbye To Radio Star And Jokes About His Potential Successor

The episode of MBCs Section TV Entertainment Relay that aired on May 28 followed Super Juniors Kyuhyun as he filmed his last episode on Radio Star before his military enlistment.

Kyuhyun first joined the show as an intern MC and has since made his mark on the show, standing shoulder to shoulder with the other, more experienced MCs. The idol even teared up as he looked back on his time on Radio Star.

Though he said that he had a good nights sleep ahead of his final day on set, Kyuhyun seemed a little mellow and less energetic than usual. To comfort him, Kim Gura chimed in and said, The hardest thing will probably be training with kids who are Donghyun [MC Gree]s age. I, alongside Kim Gook Jin and Yoon Jong Shin, will do our best to stay healthy and keep this show going till you return.
