Deadly Shooting Rampage Takes Place At Military Camp Where Psy, Jang Soo Won And Actor Jung Suk Won Train

A deadly shooting spree took place at the Korean military training camp, where k-pop star Psy, singer Jang Soo Won and actor Jung Suk Won reported for their reserve training.

According to the Korean media outlets Joongang Daily, the tragic shooting incident took place on May 13 at the Naegok-dong military training camp in the Seocho District of Seoul.

Another Korean media outlet Yonhap News quoted an army source.

"The soldieropened fire on his colleagues while receiving training at a military camp in Naegok-dong, southern Seoul, at around 10:44 a.m."

The suspect, believed to be a 23-year-old reservist, identified as Choi, first fired ten training shots at a target. Then without warning he turned his K-2 assault rifle on his fellow soldiers, waiting in line behind him. He killed two soldiers and injured at least three others. One soldier died at the scene, another on the way to the hospital and a third soldier remains in critical condition. Another was treated and released. Those injured were taken to an armed forces hospital in Seoul.

After opening fire on his fellow soldiers, the suspect killed himself.

Singer Jang Soo Won was training nearby that day and heard the gunshots.

Jang Soo Won"s agency, Daesung Entertainment, told Newsen that at first he did not think much of it.

"He said that he heard gun shots during the training," said the Daesung Entertainment representative. "He didnt think too much about it at first as gunshots are usually fired at the shooting range."

Fortunately, he was not close by.

"He was able to safely leave the camp. He was shocked."

Psy was also in the camp an hour before the incident.

Yonhap News quoted a source close to Psy saying that he was granted leave due to an afternoon engagement. He did not hear about the shooting rampage until later. Actor Jung Suk Won also left early that day because of a scheduled event and plans to return to make up for that day.

All South Korean men, between the ages of 18 and 35, are expected to serve two years of military service. A year after completing their active service, reservists must take part in an annual three-day training session for up to six years. Psy, Jang Su Won and Jung Suk Won were at the camp for their three-day training sessions.

On the episode of Running Man that aired on September 21, the cast participated in the Find the Chaebol Race. In this episode, actresses Lee Yoo Ri, Choi Yeo Jin, Yoo In Young, Seo Woo, and Kim Min Seo appeared as guests.

On this day, Kim Jong Kook was paired up with Kim Min Seo before the game Destroy the Evidence of Anger, and Kim Jong Kook showed off his sageuk acting. Kim Min Seo played the queen, Kim Soo Hyuns wife, in MBCs The Moon That Embraces The Sun. Kim Jong Kook took Kim Soo Hyuns role as he showed off his acting.

For his genuine acting, Kim Jong Kook turned his hat into a gamtu (the headgear Joseon officials wore), causing laughter. Kim Min Seo didnt waver seeing Kim Jong Kook and displayed her emotional acting, receiving applause afterwards.

Yoo Jae Suk got involved and stated that the name isnt The Moon That Embraces The Sun, but rather The Moon That Embraces The Muscles.

BTS recently released their 1st studio album DarkWIld and the music video for "Danger." Now they give you a special BTS look at their shooting.

BTS has come back with a completely different look from Just One Day. They are edgier and darker. In the behind the scenes video they claim that the choreography for this video is the hardest theyve done and they managed to learn it in one week!

They go on to also talk about the song and their worries about expressing their emotions correctly. Jimin states that the song is about a boyfriend not receiving calls or texts from his girlfriend and he didnt know what facial expressions to make.

Although the boys exclaimed multiple times that they are tired, they are seen giving it their all and they still manage to have a good time while filming.

Lee Kwang Soo recently joined in on the ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; Lou Gehrig’s disease) ice bucket challenge with the help of fellow “Running Man” member Kim Jong Kook, after he was challenged by “It’s Okay It’s Love” costar Jo In Sung. He uploaded his video on Facebook on August 20, saying that “it’s an honor to be a part of such a meaningful campaign, and I hope that through it, many will gain hope and strength.”

Kim Jong Kook then made his entrance, pouring the ice water over Lee Kwang Soo’s head. “You’re doing a good thing!” he said.

Shivering, Lee Kwang Soo challenged three more to participate: speed skater Lee Sang Hwa, actor Yoo Yeon Seok, and of course, Kim Jong Kook, who subsequently kicked Kwang Soo and grabbed him by the collar in protest. Kwang Soo said, “It’s for a good cause! And you want to do it! You like this sort of thing!”
