According to CEO Kim Jinwoo, "We spent a overall of 2 billion won (approximately $1.74 million) making an investment in Mamamoo, and the group has already recouped that investment in barely 1 year and 8 months.

MAMAMOO Entertain 2,400 Fans During Group's Double Feature Fan Meeting In Seoul


Girl group MAMAMOOwrapped up their first fan meeting, which had been expanded to two separate events due to overwhelming demand.

The group previously received media attention when tickets to the "1st MOO Party" fan meeting sold out within 1 minute of release and they had to add an additional fan meeting later the same night due to high demand.

Each of the 90-minute events, held at 5 PM and 8 PM KST of August 23 at the Olympic Park in Seoul, was attended by 1,200 fans, making for a total of 2,400 fans flocking to enjoy their time with the ladies of MAMAMOO.

The event, which was structured as a mini-concert, opened with "Piano Man." MAMAMOO then continued to heat up the stage with hit tracks such as "Love Lane" and "Mr.Ambiguous" as well as rare performances of"Freakin Shoes," "No No No," "Sting," and an a capella version of "Um Oh Ah Yeh."

In addition to performing, the four-member group also held a talk show segement and unveiled footage of the group members from their trainee years.

"We"re really happy that we could make such wonderful memories with our fans. We have no doubt that this will be our source of energy and motivation in our future activities," the group members said in a statement.

Meanwhile, MAMAMOO recently broke the record for having 30,000 official fan club members in the shortest period of time among all Korean girl groups.

According to a rep from MAMAMOO′s agency, the group worked on title track Um Oh Ah Yeah from its upcoming mini album with famed mastering engineer Chris Gehringer, who has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Nas.

The agency of the three-member girl group told Yonhap News on Tuesday, "The group released a couple of albums since 2012, but all of the albums failed to impress K-pop fans."Dohee will keep pursuing her acting career while two other members, Mint and J. Min, will keep working as singers in Thailand", an official from the agency said. A local news agency reported Tuesday morning that the main reason the group disbanded was because Dohee refused to perform as part of the girl group after she earned fame and popularity with popular cable TV drama "Reply, 1994", which aired in 2013. In response to the report on Dohee"s refusal to continue working with the group, the agency official said, "It costs millions of won to produce a single album. It"s not Dohee"s choice to put a halt to Tiny-G. I feel sorry that some reports are blaming Dohee for the breakup of the group". Tiny-G debuted in 2012, but none of its albums were major hits.
