The MAMAMOO member uploaded a goofy photo of herself on the group's official fan cafe with the caption, "I take weird photos sometimes.... Because that's how I can feel I'm no different than non-celebrities... This is the only tool that I can use to hide myself...."

Many netizens found her post offensive as they interpreted Whee In to be degrading non-celebrities.

On April 15th, Filipino singer, Kiana Valenciano posted a group picture of herself, her singer boyfriend, her celebrity friends and family at the Coldplay concert in South Korea. It was revealed that her celebrity friends included James Reid, Nadine Lustre, MYX VJS Alex Diaz and Donny Pangilinan, and her celebrity boyfriend, Sam Concepcion. They were also accompanied by Reids sister, Lauren and Valencianos  cousins.

SBS has garnered backlash from international fans and the international POC community after airing and uploading a skit containing blackface.

On April 19, SBS aired a deplorably offensive skit from their gag show, Laughing Legend Match, that is outrageous and unacceptable and has garnered a great deal of criticism.

In the skit, the main character, named Hyunhee, argues with her father about her dreams of becoming a comedian while dressed in her audition costume. Hyunhees costume comprises blackface, a cheetah-print top, a grass skirt made of cabbage, and cornrows topped with a feathered headdress.
