MBC Responds To Girls Generation Being Edited Out Of DMZ Peace Concert Broadcast

On August 15, MBC aired the pre-recorded DMZ Peace Concert held over the weekend.

Artists that participated in the recording included Girls Generation, K.Will, Ailee, BTOB, B1A4, GFRIEND, MAMAMOO, ASTRO, and Cosmic Girls. However, Girls Generations performance was not aired on broadcast.

In response, MBC commented via Weibo, SM Entertainment requested for Girls Generations appearance to be edited out from the DMZ Peace Concert which aired on August 15, and added, Please ask SM Entertainment on further questions regarding this matter.

Girls' Generation, BTOB, K.Will, Ailee, B1A4, MAMAMOO and G-Friend are among several artists who will be performing at the '2017 DMZ Peace Concert'!

For this event, former SISTAR member Soyu, BTOB's Sungjae,and announcer Lee Sung Bae will be stepping in as hosts. There will be special stages, including MAMAMOO who will perform Song Chang Sik's "My Country, My Country" - a sweet harmonic tune that reminisces the meaning of Liberation Day. K.Will is set to perform late singer Shin Hae Chul's "Dream of the Freshwater Eel", whileCNBLUE's Yonghwa, Laboum's Solbin, and Astro'sCha Eun Woowill deliver a special video for the audience.

The '2017 DMZ Peace Concert' aired on MBCand Girls' Generation was nowhere to be seen.

Back on August 12, the '2017 DMZ Peace Concert' took place in Yeuido incommemoration of Korea's Liberation Day. Various hot K-Pop stars such as G-Friend, MAMAMOO, BTOB,Ailee, and morewere announced as the performers. Top girl group Girls' Generation was also one of them.

According to netizens, '2017 DMZ Peace Concert' heavily promoted Girls' Generation's attendance to the event as a headliner. However, the girls were nowhere to be seen when the performances from the concert broadcasted through MBC on August 15.
