Medical Drama Hospital Ship Holds First Script Reading

On July 6, upcoming MBC drama Hospital Ship (literal title) held its first script reading.

Lead actors Ha Ji Won, CNBLUEs Kang Min Hyuk, and Lee Seo Won were in attendance, as well as other cast members including Kim In Shik, AOAs Mina, Kim Kwang Gyu, Jung Kyung Soon, and Lee Han Wi.

The dramas director Park Jae Bum began by greeting, As the captain, I will work to make it a comfortable and fun voyage. With his lead, the cast dove in to the script and transformed into their characters.

AOA's Mina joins cast of upcoming medical drama 'Hospital Ship'!

AOA member Mina has been added to the cast of MBC's upcoming medical drama 'Hospital Ship' (working title)!

According to a broadcast affiliate on June 15, Mina was recently confirmed to appear in the drama. The idol singer will be playing the role of a warm-hearted nurse, passionate about taking care of her patients.

'Hospital Ship' is an adolescent drama which takes place on a small island, where young medical professionals go around treating patients. Actress Ha Ji Won and CNBLUE's Minhyuk will also be starring in the drama, leading to much anticipation. It's set to air after 'Monarch - Owner of the Mask'.

The cast of upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs human island medical drama 'Hospital Ship' got together for their first script reading!

The cast, including Ha Ji Won, CNBLUE's Minhyuk, Lee Seo Won, Kim In Sik, AOA's Mina, Kim Kwang Kyu, and more showed off their excellent chemistry during the reading, getting pumped to begin filming.

Ha Ji Won will be playing her first doctor role since debut through Song Eun Jae, a skilled doctor who has difficulty with people. Minhyuk will be playing Kwak Hyun, a doctor of internal medicine, while Lee Seo Won will be Kim Jae Geol, a doctor of Korean medicine. The drama tells the story of doctors who travel to isolated islands to treat needy patients.

First still cuts revealed for upcoming medical drama 'Hospital Ship' featuring Ha Ji Won

The first set of still cuts were revealed for MBC's upcoming medical drama 'Hospital Ship' starring actress Ha Ji Won.

Taking on the role of medical doctor, Song Eun Jae, for the very first time, Ha Ji Won explained how she was drawn to play the gripping character.  "'Hospital Ship' revolves around the story of a medical team who travel to remote islands trying to look after the sick despite the lack of supplies/medical facilities.  That aspect grabbed my attention."
