Minzy has left YG Entertainment and 2NE1 and had her solo album. Being together with Jeon Somi in "Sister's Slam Dunk," recently she talked about her debut days and how Joen Somi reminded her of her young days.

During an interview with "International bnt," Minzy shared her experience in 2NE1. She said that Jeon Somi reminded her with her debut days because Minzy debuted at such a young age. Also, she was really proud of Somi because she did well, AllKpopreported.

Minzy also added that she was having a hard time when 2NE1 was on hiatus since she wanted to go on stage so much. Thus, she decided to learn dance in LA. She also said that debuting at such a young age was hard since she didn't know how to socialize well. Even though she had a hard time, thankfully she could handle it really well.

Minzy From 2NE1 Gets Solo Debut With New EP

Minzy, who was once a member of the hit K-pop girl group, 2NE1, has just reached another milestone in her career as she just managed to successfully pull of her debut as a solo K-pop icon.

Just a year after the infamous split of the girl group 2NE1, Minzy had immediately moved on from it and successfully released her very first solo album entitled, "Minzy Work 01 Uno" last Monday, April 24.

The lead single of the album is entitled as "Ninano". Reports have it that the theme of Minzy's recently released album is more on how she managed to shift and transition into becoming a solo artist. It was also said that the album's intent was to change her identity as the youngest member of the group, into now becoming an independent and strong woman.

Minzy held her solo debut showcase on April 17. 

The former 2NE1 member shared how she came to make her solo debut, and explained, "It happened smoothly because my contract came to an end. With my contract ending (with YG Entertainment), I had to make a decision to show a new, improved musical side of me."

Next, Minzy was asked about her most memorable moment with 2NE1. She answered, "I think the most memorable moment is our performance together at 'MAMA'."

On April 17, singer Minzy held her solo debut showcase for 'MINZY WORK 01 UNO'.

Debuting as a member of 2NE1 in 2009, Minzy was the first member to leave the group as she did not re-sign her contract with YG in April 2016.

During the interview, Minzy commented, "I am both very anxious and amazed by the fact that I am releasing my own song.  I couldn't sleep last night thinking about it."

On having made the tough decision to stand alone on stage, Minzy stated, "It was as if I was leaving my hometown, with YG and 2NE1 behind.  I felt burdened because a lot of people were depending on me. It was a chance for me to take on a new challenge and a way for me to mature."
