[MV & Album Review] G-Friend – 'Parallel/Love Whisper'

G-Friend are here to make your summer even brighter with their new mini-album 'Parallel.' With previous hits like "Rough" and "Mi Gustas Tu" it wasn't hard to predict that their new MV would get tons of views hours after release and that the single would top music charts. Their fifth EP has 8 new tracks.

"INTRO (BELIEF)" has a familiar pitch to it, and very much reminds me of their past hits, while still remaining fresh and new. It sets the tone of the new album nicely, even if not all of them participated in the vocals.

[MV & Album Review] VIXX LR – 'Whisper'

It's been 2 years since their debut as a subunit, and finally Leo and Ravi of

VIXX LR are back with a new mini-album 'Whisper.' They've been working hard on it, producing and writing all the songs themselves. And you have the fruits of their labor available now.

"Whisper" is a fun hip-hop/RB track. It starts out soft, with Leo's smooth vocals. But it picks up when Ravi's sick raps start. It's not frantic, either, just refreshing. The song's pretty soothing overall, though I think I'd get bored if it was all raps or a straight pop tune. It's got that something that takes it to the next level.

[MV & Album Review] G-Friend – 'Rainbow / Summer Rain'

Hot on the heels of the successful 'Love Whisper,' G-Friend is back again with the repackage album 'Rainbow.' This has all the tracks you love from 'Love Whisper,' plus two brand new tracks, "Summer Rain" and the titular "Rainbow." Since the original album has already been reviewed, we're going to just focus on the two new songs.

The title track is "SUMMER RAIN," a refreshing balladic tune that makes a really good fall track. It's not technically autumn yet, so it falls into that gray area. It starts out with a pretty classical vignette, and then quickly acquires a beat and some subtle sampled scratchings. These kinds of beautiful songs are what G-Friend does best, and that is exemplified here. The angelic vocals, along with the occasional rain effects, help make this song pop.

[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Whisper" Episode 17 Final

The callousness never ends for our villains, who fight until the very end to turn things around for themselves and take one another down. Yeong-joo and Dong-joon's work is not done after his arrest, because there is always the trial. The time has come for everyone to pay for their sins and merits and we all know which ones owe the most. Meanwhile, Tae-gon makes a new friend in prison.

By now I am surprised that the villains are still trying. I understand why they are, but it is funny seeing Jeong-il (Kwon Yul) act cocky when he is no longer free to influence the evidence as he likes. There are several trails and people who can point to them on the outside. Then again, Jeong-il has not been playing with a full deck for a while, so perhaps this is just another manifestation of his madness.

4. Swimming Fool (Performance Team)

8. Check-In (Remastering) (CD Only)

Seventeen is releasing its own special sequence of albums called the 2017 Seventeen Project. The new mini-album 'Al1' ("alone") kicks off this venture with 6 new songs, and two special CD only tracks. This is their fourth EP to date.

"Don't Wanna Cry" is much more a soft pop tune than anything else, and doesn't pop as much as I would expect for a title track. I was hoping for a jam, but this just left me cold. There are parts I like, but the soft voices were off-putting. I'm not sure what I was hoping for, but this just sounded flat to my ears.
