"Mystery Queen" Season 2 Confirmed

KBS announced that the drama "Mystery Queen" will be releasing season 2 in February 2018. Actor Kwon Sang-woo and actress Choi Kang-hee have confirmed their reappearence and the script is being written at the moment.

It is a historical moment considering that this drama will be the very first drama to go seasonal from KBS. KBS being the one of the biggest broadcasting television network, it is a big deal that "Mystery Queen" was able to achieve the second season.

Drama "Mystery Queen" is Korean version of "Miss Marple". This detective drama is about Yoo Seol-ok (played by Choi Kang-hee), a normal housewife with a brilliant brain for detective works and a hot-blooded, young police captain, Ha Wan-seung (played by Kwon Sang-woo). As this unlikely duo work together to solve mysterious cases, everyone was captivated by the unique story and the characters played by these veteran actor and actress. Rating for the drama was stable throughout the season with 8~11% and built a firm fan base.

"Mystery Queen" ended with a perfect open ending. The final episode which seemed to find the secret to everything, ended with a strong hint of a second season.

On the final episode of the KBS 2TV drama "Mystery Queen", Ha Wan-seung (Kwon Sang-woo) and Yoo Seol-ok (Choi Kang-hee) tracked down the real story behind Seo Hyeon-soo's death and the death of Yoo Seol-ok's parents.

Ha Wan-seuk quit being a police when Yoo Seol-ok got hurt and joined in father Ha Jae-ho (Jang Gwang) in his office. However, this was to avoid his father's eyes and closely investigate Seo Hyeon-soo's case. Ha Wan-seung and Yoo Seol-ok were trying to bring out a case that was statute-barred for a long time.

KBS "Presidential Debate" 26.4%, "Mystery Queen" comes in first

"Mystery Queen" was able to take the lead thanks to the "Presidential Debate".

According to Nielsen Korea, the KBS 2TV drama "Mystery Queen" came in first with 7.7%. This is 3.9% less than the previous episode.

The reason for this seems to be because of the KBS "Presidential Debate" which rated 26.4% in the same time frame.

Ha Wan-seung (Kwon Sang-woo) started to get on uncomfortable terms with Yoo Seol-ok's (Choi Kang-hee) husband Kim Ho-cheol (Yoo Hee-seok).

Meanwhile, SBS "Saimdang: Light's Diary" rated 6.1% and MBC "Radiant Office" rated 4.4%.

Choi Kang-hee and Kwon Sang-woo put together their forces and caught the real criminals. At the same time, their painful past went by.

On the latest episode of the KBS 2TV drama "Mystery Queen", Yoo Seol-ok (Choi Kang-hee) tracked down the Lee Myeong-hee murder.

Yoo Seol-ok followed Ha Wan-seung (Kwon Sang-woo) around and started investigating. She looked through the list of phone calls with families and knew it had to be Cha Yong-chool (Seong Si-yoon).

However, Cha Yong-chool had an alibi which was the convenient store CCTV and Yoo Seol-ok analyzed the CCT with Ha Wan-seung. They found out Cha Yong-chool killed Lee Myeong-hee.
