As per usual, SBSs music show Inkigayo is currently accepting votes for the winning song for their upcoming July 2 episode. The voting period for July 2 is open from June 19 to June 24.

Many of the songs available for voting are from currently promoting artists such as DAY6, NCT 127, 9MUSES, MONSTA X, and ASTRO. However, an interesting addition to the list is NUESTs song Hello, which was first released in 2013. The song also rose to the top of music charts after the finale of Produce 101 Season 2.

Korean Presidential Candidates Debate On Gay Rights For First Time Ever

South Korean presidential candidates Moon Jae In and Hong Joon Pyo discussed the topic of homosexuality during the fourth presidential debate and Jae Ins stance surprised many.

The topic of gay rights is often avoided in the quite conservative Korea and is almost always avoided by presidential candidates. The short exchange about the topic was the first time the issue has been brought up since presidential debates began in South Korea in 1992.

Hong Joon Pyo of the conservative Liberty Korea Party raised the issue in the debate, saying that homosexuals were to be blamed for the spread of AIDS in Korea. There is, however, absolutely no scientific evidence backing up this claim. He also stated that the Korean military is being negatively affected by gay men (referring to the recent military interrogation scandal) and that they are weakening the countrys defense.

With 22 weeks on top of the Billboard charts, K-pop superstars BTS has finally overtaken Miley Cyrus and Rihanna's records on top of the charts. This is a milestone achievement for the K-pop group which has recently concluded their sold out US leg of their "Wings" World Tour.

According to a report by SBS Pop Asia, with 22 weeks on the Billboard charts, BTS now ranks third in the lists of artists who have the longest stay on the charts. They come next only to Taylor Swift who maintained her position on the Billboard Top 50 charts at 28 weeks. However, they are still a long way to go before beating the record set by Justin Bieber at 161 weeks.
