[Orion's Drama News] Resurrections and False Prophets

The new drama season is upon us and it brings all manner of goodness. We have romance, crime, mystery and of course the much beloved fantasy thrown into the mix. Today I share goodies from and some thoughts on "School 2017" and "Reunited Worlds". I also present to you my chosen upcoming dramas for episode reviews and share drama news for this week, which includes plenty of casting announcements. We have a busy season ahead.

Summer is school mystery time and first up is "School 2017". The series has new posters, including one of the three leads. There are also new stills of rookie actress Kim Sejeong. I did not know the "School" series featured crime, but then again everything in Dramaland does nowadays. "Reunited Worlds" is a more disturbing, fantasy-fueled mystery with a minor-adult pairing, the latter being a trend I cannot wait to see the death of. Speaking of death, here are new goodies from the death-sparked mystery, including stills of Ahn Jae-hyun and casting news for Shin Soo-ho.

Today I bring you courtroom love and violent bickering with "Suspicious Partner" a.k.a "Ji Chang-wook's first romantic comedy". I also take a turn for the selfish and fawn over all the upcoming dramas I have my eye on, which have released new material. May the Dramagods grace us all with fun spring and summer dramas.

I would also call my partner suspicious (and call the police) if he kicked me in the face or if he responded to kicks in the face with infatuated smiles, but this is Dramaland and this is one of the two new teasers for "Suspicious Partner". The series looks like a typical modern romantic comedy, meaning one including murders. It has worked before, however, so I do not worry too much. Ji Chang-wook is looking spiffy and Nam Ji-hyeon will hopefully be doing more than being damseled, so bring on the cute.

Between awards and the upcoming elections, we are witnessing some pretty intense in their respective venue weeks . If you appreciated my ramblings on the dramas I am looking forward to last week, then you are in the right article. Selfish Ori returns and I bring teaser woes along with the usual news.

The Curse of Lackluster Teasers

Anyone who actively follows drama news knows basic information about shows of interest. While teaser videos are not supposed to reveal too much, I do feel deflated when all they do is wield star power. Even my upcoming dramas of interest are guilty of this to a degree. "Circle" does quite well, as its two teasers have style and tease mystery. On the other hand "Lookout" has little to offer aside from a cast looking comically tense. Even "Secret Forest" does this in its new teasers. Throw us a bone here, productions.

Have you been looking forward to some dramas about people being violent and/or miserable in various ways? Probably not, but I have a handy list of some upcoming ones which have released new goodies this week. I also present "Woman of Dignity" and its hand fetish before I talk romance in "Fight My Way".

If sageuk or melodrama are not your genres and you prefer your murders outside of romantic comedies, these upcoming and thematically bleak works which have been on my radar for a while might do the trick. "Circle" has new posters and I am still waiting for the the science fiction of it. "Duel" is seeing dual and yes, I am still confused about the title. "Secret Forest" has dropped a new video as well and "Lookout" teases style it can hopefully bring substance to.

Today I bring you historical tragedy, workforce tragedy and pathetic excuses as to why I have forgotten to let you know which dramas I will be covering. "Queen for 7 Days" has a lot of goodies out and there shall be tears. "Strongest Deliveryman" brings food and the woes of employment to the forefront. Read on for more weekly drama news.

Short-lived Positions

"Queen for 7 Days" tells the story of Queen Dangyeong, or rather her very short time as one. The first, cheerful teaser is quite confusing given the historical context, but the second video and the posters seem to paint a clearer picture. Her story is not exactly a happy one. As this piece and the title describe, she was chosen as a queen and taken down within seven days through the political machinations of others. If you like your period dramas, you might want to check this out.
