[Orion's Drama News] Vengeance and Deadly Premonitions

After last week's round up of news for romantic series, I need a little something to balance things off. Today I bring you revenge and death, although sadly not combined. "Buam-dong Avengers" drops some great teasers hinting at family drama. "While You Were Sleeping - 2017" and "Black" may share the element of predicting death, but the clear differences in focused genre cover different tastes. All in all, we have a promising upcoming drama season.

I was not sure what to make of "Buam-dong Avengers" before its promotion started and I was still largely unsure after the first teaser came up. Revenge is enough of a staple in Korean stories that it can take many forms tonally and genre-wise. The series has since released three character teasers and they paint a clearer picture. Our trio of finely cast vengeful ladies is not leading the thriller I would have liked, but the type of melodrama it does look like is sometimes scarier. I look forward to more goodies from it.

"Bride of the Water God 2017" really really wants to sell its main pairing and so the teasers keep piling up. We also have some new information about other characters this week as well as other news, especially a lot of casting and potential casting ones. Check them out in the latter half of this piece.

A godly boyfriend sounds nice, until you realize his powers can be easily replaced by an umbrella and the common sense to check the weather forecast. This is essentially teaser four for "Bride of the Water God 2017" and teaser five follows the same aesthetic. Divine boyfriend disappointments aside, we have new information on the leading lady as well as her love rival character. The series is also promoting its supporting cast, so you can have an idea of what everyone is about before it starts airing in a little over two weeks.

Keeping well hydrated is a necessity for those of us currently experiencing a very hot summer and Water Gods could surely help. Yes, it is I, the queen of bad excuses for why I am about to drown you in "Bride of the Water God 2017" news again. Fans, come right in. Non-fans, I do have more news for you.

Not even Gods can mess with fancy plumbing, but they do produce a really fun teaser while losing to it. Granted, it seems to have very little to do with the actual series, but I am easily entertained. The series is selling its OTP hard with stills and more stills while their poster is also available. You can find the rest of the character posters on our profile for the series. Two of said characters seem to like plotting over tea in these stills and we also have a glimpse at some of the supporting cast members.

Once in a while Korean drama will go for outlandish stories and "Man Who Dies to Live" certainly seems to fit the bill. Today I give my first impressions on this upcoming title and I also take a look at "Criminal Minds" and the reason why it scares me. No water gods today, I promise.

Man Who Has Awkward Reunions

Park your time travels and birth secrets, because they cannot beat a man who becomes a count in a fictional kingdom in terms of originality. While the poster and first teaser for "Man Who Dies to Live" make me worried in terms of cultural sensitivity, I am intrigued by the story. While it can easily go into ridiculous and soapy territory as the teaser would suggest, I cannot help but dream. Dream a little dream for me, "Man Who Dies to Live".
