Police make official statement on popular idol sexual assault claim

Police have released an official statement on the sexual assault claims made against an unnamed popular idol star earlier this month.

On July 25, a rep from the Seoul Gangnam Police station stated, "After looking at the results of the investigation, we've found no evidence to support the allegations. We plan to send the case to prosecution for their opinion."

As previously reported,a woman claimed thatshe has been sexually assaulted by Aand two other men at a home in Gangnam after drinking together. She later withdrew her case.

The woman who accused popular idol member 'A' of sexual assault has withdrawn her claims. 

According to the Gangnam Police Department on July 6, a woman claimed that she has been sexually assaulted by A and two other men at a home in Gangnam while drinking together.

However, the latest report reveals that the woman changed her words in the written statement of the investigation and claimed A is innocent. Currently, the investigation is ongoing and Idol A is also expected to show up for the police inquiry.

After it was reported that a popular idol group member (who remains unnamed and will hereafter be referred to as A) was being investigated for sexual assault, the victim has now stated that he was not involved in the attack.

It was previously reported by the Gangnam Police Station that a woman called the police on the morning of July 6 to report that she had been sexually assaulted by two men, including “A,” at a home in Yeoksam while they were drinking together. “A” was not present at the scene when the police arrived.

Police have dismissed a recent sexual assault case in which an unnamed popular idol group member (hereafter referred to as A) was originally accused.

On July 23, Gangnam Police Station disclosed that the case was forwarded to the public prosecutors office as a dismissed case due to lack of evidence.
