After recently signing on with KOEN Stars, it was also revealed that singer/tv personality Shin Jung Hwan and his wife are expecting. Shin Jung Hwan married his current wife back in 2014, and she is currently 21 weeks pregnant, expecting to deliver in August of this year.

Shin Jung Hwan took to his fan cafe after news of his wife's pregnancy broke out to reveal his thoughts on returning to broadcasts. He said, "Even though some of you anticipated my return for some time, I did not feel that my time of reflection was enough. However, the reason I've decided to return now, is that many thoughts occurred to me after discovering that I would be becoming a father at my age. Because I want to be known not as a father who fell and could not get up, but as one who got up and lived by working even harder and more honestly; this is my honest thought."

On July 12, his agency Koen Starsstated, "After Shin Jung Hwan met with Mnetrecently, it's confirmed he'll be returning to broadcasts in September through a new variety show." The variety show surrounds the theme 'Return to Beginnings Project', but further details have not been revealed.

Shin Jung Hwan stated, "I can't believe I've been given a new chance. I'm worried I won't be able to adjust to the flow of the new show, butI'm more worried what viewers will think... I'm nervous just wondering about that. Allof this is somethingI have to endure andmove past. I'll do my bestin the most sincere way."

MBC denied that Shin Jung Hwan will be coming to 'Radio Star'.

A media outlet had previously reported that Shin Jung Hwan had signed with a large entertainment label in Korea, and that he would be taking Super Junior Kyuhyun's place on the panel once Kyuhyun enlists. Shin Jung Hwan has signed with KOEN STARS on April 27, the label of comedian Lee Kyung Kyu.

However, MBC denied the rumors, saying, "We haven't decided on Kyuhyun's replacement, and we haven't even talked about it properly. We also haven't met with Shin Jung Hwan. We will be looking for Kyuhyun's replacement at a later time."
