To commemorate Korean Independence Day on August 15, actress Song Hye Kyo and Sungsin Womens University professor Seo Kyung Deok have collaborated in publishing a historical travel guidebook titled The Story of Our History Abroad, The Kyoto Edition. So far, 10,000 copies have been printed.

The guidebook is written in both Korean and Japanese and features Korean historical and cultural landmarks that can be visited by tourists of Kyoto, such as the Tanba Manganese Memorial Hall, Yoon Dong Jus memorial, Koryo Museum of Art, the Mimizuka (or Ear Tomb), and many others. Also featured are colorful descriptions of the historical sites as well as directions for travelers.

Four Korean universities made it to the top 100 in the global rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds of the U.K.

Seoul National University ranked 36th, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 41st, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in 71st, and Korea University 90th.

Yonsei and Sungkyunkwan universities just missed the top 100 in 106th and 108th. Hanyang University moved up 16 notches to 155th place, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies came 397th.

In '60s school uniforms, Oh My Girl covered Baek Nan Ah's 68-year-old song "Sweet 18", which is a perfect song for the rookie girl group. Before performing on stage, Oh My Girl said, "It's a song released in 1949, but all our members knew it," remarking on the longevity of the song.

The audience loved Oh My Girl's throwback to the old hit as well as their stage outfits, but it was married couple Yoo Sung Eun and Bong Goo who took the final win.
