Before the finale of Produce 101 Season 2 aired on June 16, Mnet revealed a video of the trainees recording their debut mission songs, Hands on Me and Super Hot.

The Super Hot team joined producer Ryan Jhun in the recording studio to record their various parts. Although most of the trainees received praise for their hard work, the atmosphere turned tense when Ryan Jhun appeared dissatisfied with Kim Jong Hyuns rap.

On June 9, Mnet released a clip of the Produce 101 Season 2 trainees jamming out to a karaoke session that was not seen during the official broadcast.

In previous episodes, the trainees have gathered to compete in missions of strength such as push-ups, planks, and an old-fashioned arcade punch game.

The third episode of Mnets Produce 101 Season 2 was packed with excitement as the final results of the video evaluations were revealed and the highly anticipated group battle evaluations began in the third episode as well.

In the preview from the end of the second episode, viewers saw a trainee from the F rank group walk into the room of A rank trainees, which was an unexpected but perhaps welcome shakeup for viewers. In the end, six trainees from the B rank group (Han Jongyeon, Daniel Kang, Kim Sangbin, Kim Sungri, Im Youngmin, Lee Woojin), one trainee from the C rank group (Woo Jinyoung), one trainee from the D rank group (Ahn Hyunseob), and one trainee from the F rank group (Kim Taedong) made their way into the A rank group. Plus, although there were some who were less steady in their performance for the video evaluations, all of the original A rank trainees were able to maintain their spots in the group (Lee Daehwi, Park Woojin, Ha Sunghoon, No Taehoon, Kim Namhyung, Samuel Kim, Ong Sungwoong).

While many expected the Avengers (Group 1 performing Boy in Luv) team to win the overall group battle on-site scoring, the Group 1 that performed SEVENTEENs Mansae (Park Woo Dam, Joo Won Tak, Kim Yeon Guk, Woo Jin Young, Kim Tae Dong) took first place, despite an unexpected member loss, and Park Woo Dam, the main vocal of the group, ranked first for the contestants. He commented, I thought people would only like good-looking trainees, but thank you.
