On the June 21 episode, Sunggyu joined the talk show as the special MC. Following his introduction, the other MCs asked, "When's INFINITE making a comeback?''

Sunggyu was not able to immediately answer but hesitantly said, "After we come to an agreement with our contract... It's renewal season so... Our contract just came to an end last week."

In a recent interview with Biz Enter, L revealed, "Contract renewal is still under discussion. We have just laid out the introduction and now we need to discuss the main body."

INFINITE's contract with Woollim Entertainment came to an end in June. The label announced that "contract renewal is under discussion." A few weeks later, an exclusive report by Segye Ilbo revealed that 6 out of the 7 INFINITE members have renewed their contract with Woollim Entertainment. The agency has not spoken up about the report.

On August 30 (KST), INFINITE's label Woollim Entertainment issued an official statement regarding the members' contract renewals.

It seems 6 INFINITE members - Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Sungyeol, L, and Sungjong - have decided to renew their contracts, while Hoya has decided to depart from Woollim.

The label's statement is as follows:

"Hello. This is Woollim Entertainment.

First, we would like to sincerely thank the fans who love and cherish the group INFINITE. This is an official statement regarding INFINITE's contract renewals.

On August 30, Woollim Entertainment announced that Hoya will be leaving INFINITE.

The agency wrote, INFINITE member Hoyas exclusive contract with us ended on June 9, 2017 after being with us for the past seven years.

They explained that while discussing contract renewals in June, he decided to take another path to pursue his dreams, and the company and members decided to respect his decision. As it was a careful decision that had to be made, a lot of time was spent for consideration, they continued.

On June 14, Maroo Entertainment confirmed previous reports that 'Produce 101' season 2 trainee Park Ji Hoon has already begun his official contract with the label.

Maroo Entertainment simply stated, "We had a contract already in place. Because we are not a big company, we create contracts even with our trainees. It is a standard contract with a 7-year term."

Previous reports had stated that while most trainees do not sign contracts with their labels until after their debut becomes confirmed or directly on their debut date, Park Ji Hoon's contract has been set in place since before his appearance on 'Produce 101' season 2.
