YG Entertainmentis launching another survival program with their trainees.

Previously, it was reported that Bang Ye Damis preparing for hisdebut in a new boy group with young members aging from 15 to 17. On June 19, YG Entertainment revealed that the debut members of the boy group will be selected through a new survival program, which is scheduled to launch in the latter half of the year.

According to reports on June 20, the upcoming male trainee survival program YG Entertainment will be launching will take on a 'YG-Style Produce 101' format.

A rep from the label said, "YG will launch a variety of programs beginning this fall. Han Dong Chul PD, who produced 'Show Me The Money' will work on a new survival program... it will be the first time YG will be joining hands with outside labels, and YG will be hand-picking members from participating, unknown rookie groups, to form a brand new group."

Bang Ye Dams Group Debut Postponed, YG To Launch New Survival Show

According to new reports, the debut of YG Entertainments new boy group with Bang Ye Dam, the runner-up of K-Pop Star 2, has been pushed back.

Previously, it had been reported that preparations were under way for YG’s new boy group with Bang Ye Dam to debut in July 2017. At the time, YG claimed it would be debuting its youngest boy group yet, with the members being 15-17 years old.

Instead, Bang Ye Dam will be joining other YG trainees in a survival program aimed for the second half of this year. The program will be similar to those that produced iKON and WINNER, and will likely be headed by PD Han Dong Chul, who recently signed an exclusive contract with YG Entertainment. PD Han Dong Chul is known for his work on music variety shows like “Produce 101” and “Show Me the Money,” and it remains to be seen how his expertise will influence YG’s survival show.

On June 20, a representative from YG Entertainment stated, PD Han Dong Chul, who has produced programs like Produce 101 and Show Me The Money, will be working with YG Entertainment to create a brand new audition program.

YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk, who has served as a judge on K-Pop Star since its first season back in 2011, will be directly participating in the production of the new show. Furthermore, there is a good possibility that other YG Entertainment artists may appear as judges on the program.
