(Photo : Mnet ) On the June 26 premiere episode of Mnet"s "Show Me the Money 4," former GLAM leader Jiyeon delivered a rap performance where she aired her frustrations about the Lee Byung Hun scandal. In September 2014, Lee began legal action against former GLAM member Dahee and model Lee Ji Yeon for allegedly blackmailing him for large sums of money.
Jiyeon was directly affected by the incident when GLAM was disbanded in January 2015, following a court ruling which sentenced Dahee to a year in prison.
While Jiyeon was once able to perform on stage as part of a group, she was eliminated from the competition Her elimination was most likely due to the controversial nature of her lyrics, which directly targeted those involved. Lee Byung Hun and his wife, actress Lee Min Jung, recently became parents. Upon returning to Korea, he issued an apology to the public. He also requested pardons for Dahee and Lee Ji Yeon.
The entertainment Joins highlighted her situation and appearance on "Show Me the MOney." During the segment, GLAM"s Jiyeon discussed her reasons for auditioning for the talent competition. She was once the leader of a K-pop girl group but is now faced with the challenge of locating employment. "I want to earn money," said Jiyeon. "I have tried working a part-time job at a restaurant or cafe."
She went on to emphasize her desire to return to a career in entertainment. "I want to continue with music, it was challenging," said Jiyeon.
Her appearance on "Show Me the Money 4" marked her first television stint since GLAM was disbanded. GLAM debuted under Big Hit Entertainment in 2012 and had only released four single albums, prior to being dissolved.
Jiyeon was not the only member of an idol group to appear on the premiere of "Show Me the Money 4." Ravi of the male group VIXX is currently competing, along with WINNER"s Mino (Song Minho). The latest installment of the competition has faced criticism from fans and critics due to what many consider to be a disproportionate number of idols included within the program.
