BLACKPINKs growing popularity has advertisement and endorsement deals rolling from all sides but, due to the groups busy schedule, they have only been able to accept a select few since last August. Recently, however, an endorsement offer came in that the girls couldnt refuse and now BLACKPINKs faces can be seen on banners and video screens on trains throughout Incheon Airport.

Incheon Airport Sees Record Travelers Amid Peak Vacation Season

Incheon International Airport has seen the greatest number of passengers in its history this week, as summer vacation season peaks.

There was a record 205,000 travelers on Sunday -- 110,000 outbound and 95,000 inbound, according to the airport on Monday. The previous record was 201,000 set on Feb. 19 this year.

Flight schedules broke new records as well with 1103 flights -- 540 arrivals and 563 departures.

To respond to the overwhelming crowds, the airport moved the first check-in time forward from 6.10 a.m. to 5:40 a.m. An additional 20 mobile check-in counters were also added.

On August 19, YMC Entertainment apologized to fans and reporters who were waiting for the members, stating, "Because of safety concerns, it was impossible to enter at the usual gate. The airport staff then opened up another gate for the group to use to depart. As many people gathered and paralyzed the airport, we came upon the decision to ensure everyone's safety in that situation, so please understand. We'd like to apologize to fans and other persons related."

Cruise Ship Terminal to be Built Near Incheon Airport

A cruise ship terminal will be built just 5 km from Incheon International Airport west of Seoul by 2021.

Incheon International Airport Corporation said the terminal is expected to boost passenger traffic at the airport and increase the number of visitors to two new resort complexes near the airport. The cost is estimated at between W200 billion and W500 billion (US$1=W1,130).

Cruise ships that dock at the terminal are expected to boost annual passenger traffic in and around the airport to 100 million by 2023 and to 130 million by 2029. An IIAC staffer said, "The airport is getting bigger, so we need to ensure that more passengers use it".

A 31-year-old Chinese engineer named Zheng Jiajia recently married his special bride, a robot he designed to look like a woman. Zheng plans to continue working on her, hoping she will one day behave like an actual human being.

Zheng graduated from Zhejiang University in 2011 with a masters degree in artificial intelligence and went on to relocate to an area of Hangzhou known as Dream Town, a very popular internet and tech startup hub in the city.
