Deported TV personality Amy attempts suicide after a talk show airs malicious rumors about her

Amy (35) has attempted suicide. 

On June 20, it's reported that Amy is currently hospitalized after attempting suicide at her home in Los Angeles. The reason behind her suicide attempt is revealed to be Channel A talk show 'I Heard It Through the Grapevine'. 

'I Heard It Through the Grapevine' covered a story about Amy on the June 19th episode. The reporters on the show claimed that Amy asked the reporters for 200,000 KRW (~ 175 USD) as she desperately needed money for treatment. It was also claimed that Amy asked the reporters to photoshop her photos before sharing them to the public in midst of her deportation controversy.

Six months after it was revealed that assistant PD Lee of tvNs Drinking Solo had died by suicide, the investigation team put together at the time by the family of the deceased held a press conference on April 18, demanding a sincere apology from CJ EM as well as measures to prevent the same from happening in the future.

Upon investigation, the team concluded that the suicide was a result of extreme labor during the production of the drama — PD Lee only having two days off out of 55 days of work and only being able to sleep for an average of 4 hours and 30 minutes a day for 10 days — as well as verbal abuse from the drama production staff.

CJ EM has released an official statement in response to the team that is currently investigating the suicide of PD Lee Han Bin, who previously worked on tvNs Drinking Solo.

On April 18, a source from CJ EM stated, We express great sadness regarding the unfortunate death of Lee Han Bin. We would also like to offer our deepest condolences to his family, who is grieving.

They also added, Although we have been discussing the causes [of suicide] with the police and the family after the investigation of the PDs death, we feel very sorry for what happened today. If the police and the public authorities take the lead in investigating, our executives as well as the staff will actively participate.
