The Queen of England Once Spent Her Birthday in Korea Eating Korean Food

The Queen of England once celebrated her birthday in South Korea by eating delicious Korean food.

In 1999, Queen Elizabeth II visited South Korea as part of a royal tour and celebrated her 73rd birthday there. Her Majesty took a trip to the ancient village of Hahoe in North Gyeongsang, where she experienced some of the areas most important cultural traditions.

Queen Elizabeth II watched as Koreas most famous dish, kimchi, was prepared in front of her. She then watched a performance of the villages unique dance, which had received the title of Important Intangible Cultural Property for its cultural and historic significance to the area.

Korean Woman Sentenced To Prison For Biting Drunk Mans Tongue After He Tried To Kiss Her

A woman who was forcibly kissed by a man is now being sentenced to prison after biting his tongue in self-defense.

On February 16 of last year, a 46-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were drinking together at a cafe in Incheon when the man supposedly demanded sex from the woman while forcibly kissing her. As an act of self-defense, the woman bit his tongue to try and stop him. The man received severe injuries as a result of the bite and took 7 weeks to heal.

The unnamed woman who testified in court, explained how the man had hit her, grabbed her, and forced himself on her. She has now been sentenced to six months in prison, with a two-year suspended sentence by Incheons 12th Criminal Courts chief judge.

Strong Woman Do Bong-soon Ep.13-16: Glimpses of What Couldve Been

After weeks of misguided comedy, meandering plot lines, and a misplaced prioritising of tone over characterisation, its finally a wrap for Strong Woman Do Bong-soon. This last quarter, especially the final episode, rights a few of its many wrongs. Perhaps its better late than never, but at the same time, its a sad reminder of how great the drama could have been if only it had remembered to focus on its heroine, her growth, and her relationships with the people around her.

This review contains spoilers for Episodes 13-16.
