Shinhwa's "Sniper" MV Hits 1 Million YouTube Views

To hype the much anticipated follow up to the "Sniper", Shinhwa commemorated obtaining one million views with fans as they uploaded group photos on their SNS accounts.

Shinhwa dropped their 12th album WE and music video “Sniper” on February 26th. A little over a week later, “Sniper” had officially achieved one million views on their new music video.

When combining the view count from “Sniper” from CJENMMUSIC and “SHINHWA OFFICIAL’s” Youtube channels, the total comes out to be over 1.4 million views. In celebration of obtaining 1 million views, Shinhwa shared some group photos on their SNS.

PSY celebrates the latest milestone his worldwide hit song “Gentleman” has reached on February 22, 2015 with 800,000,000 views on its music video.

After the release of “Gangnam Style” in 2012, PSY’s music began to spread on a global scale while becoming a large internet sensation. Even though the hype of “Gangnam Style” eventually died down, a year later, PSY made a comeback with “Gentleman” which allowed his name to resurface one again among non K-pop fans.

With both his tracks “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” ranking in YouTube’s TOP10 most viewed videos, PSY’s “Gentleman” has finally reached 800 million views on February 22nd.

Although released about two years ago, PSY’s track is continuously being listened to with the increase of about 4 million views within the past week.

After surpassing 2 billion views in late May this year, YouTube officially needed to re-calibrate its coding system to accommodate its ever-growing viewership.

On December 1st, YouTube shared that Gangnam Style had surpassed its 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views) limit and forced them to upgrade to a 64-bit integer (=9,223,372,036,854,775,808 views). If youre not sure how to say that magic number, that is 9 quintillion were talking about.

YouTube also marked the occasion with a special counter on the “Gangnam Style” video page. A cursor hovering over the counter spins through the view count. In their Google+ page, YouTube ask viewers to:

Even after two years since its release through YouTube, The Gangnam Style MV is still going strong in daily viewer-ship figures. According to ChannelMeter, a website that specializes in YouTube analytics, the video has a little more than one million viewers each day.

No doubt Psy and Gangnam Style are culture phenomenons. Will the videos record number of views ever be broken at some point in the future? Well one thing is for certain: Gangnam Style will still be at the top for some time.

Taeyang’s “Ringa Linga” Music Video Hits Over 1 Million YouTube Views in Less Than a DayThe music video for BIGBANG Taeyang’s new song “Ringa Linga” has hit a million views, less than a day after its release.

The “Ringa Linga” music video recorded 1023924 hits within 13 hours of being released on BIGBANG’s official YouTube channel (as of November 10, 10:00 AM KST). The number of views has been steadily rising, after the video was released on November 9 at 9:00 PM.

The MV opens with the backdrop of the setting sun, and in the music video, Taeyang displays his overflowing charisma and smooth dance moves. Whether performing solo or as a group with his dancers, Taeyang shows powerful and dynamic moves in his choreography to express the RB style of the song.

BIGBANG’s leader and close friend of 13 years, G-Dragon, as well as new boy group WINNER, make a surprise appearance in the music video.

According to an agency representative, “The music video was supposed to be released on November 9 at midnight (0:00 AM), but there was additional work done in order to show a more complete video, so the release was pushed to 9:00 PM on the same day.”
