Week in Review, 4/15 to 4/21

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another edition of SB Week in Review! Heres what you need to know before the weekend is up:

Following last weeks creepy incident at G-Friends fansign, another person was removed from a Pristin event. Fans alerted Pledis of one man who had written lewd comments about Kyulkyung online, and was planning to crudely proposition her at an upcoming fansign. Management decided to keep their surveillance low key, and were able to apprehend the man before he got to Kyulkyung.

Week in Review, 4/22 to 4/28

Welcome to another edition of SB Week in Review! Heres all the news you might have missed this week.

Laughing Legend MatchHong Hyun-hee officially apologized for the much criticized black-face sketch aired on the SBS show last week. The show has already apologized for the skit, but it all seems to be too little, too late especially with celebrities like Sam Okyere commenting on the offensive nature of the skit.

The woman who accused actor Uhm Tae-woong of sexual assault has been sentenced to two and half years in prison, following the judges ruling that the sex between Uhm and the massage parlor worker was consensual. The owner of the massage parlor was also charged with prostitution, blackmail, and filming with a hidden camera. Following the original accusations, Uhm Tae-woong paid a 1 million won fine last November for soliciting prostitution.

[MV & Album Review] TEEN TOP - 'High Five / Love Is'

TEEN TOP comes back as a quintet to give their fans a 'High Five.' Joe.L's departure was an emotional affair for the band, but they pulled it together for a 2017 comeback. Not only that, but they offer up 11 tracks for your perusal.

"Origin," like 99% of intro tunes, has echoes of the title track. Specifically Niel's falsetto. The rest is some odd electronic mashup that I'm guessing was meant to sound somewhat romantic. It's okay as intro tracks go, but hardly the highlight of the album.

"The Fate of the Furious" overtakes "Beauty and the Beast" for pole position...

Bill Condon's "Beauty and the Beast" was unable to secure a fifth-straight run at the top because of the arrival of a high-octane action film from director F. Gary Gray. "The Fate of the Furious" (also known as Fast Furious 8), the eighth film in the franchise, arrived last Wednesday and scooped up the lion's share of the stubs (63.82%); from 1,467 screens around the country, "The Fate of the Furious" claimed 1.05 million admissions ($10.5 million). The film, which cost $250 million to produce, boasts an ensemble cast including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, and others. Worldwide, the 'F8' has already grossed over half a billion dollars.

[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Whisper" Episode 7

Dong-joon's newfound confidence and rediscovered sense of justice make him determined to take down Jeong-il and set things right for Yeong-joo and her family. The several antagonists of "Whisper" are starting to feel the pressure of their power games and cracks have begun to form in their mighty facade. Everyone has reasons to fight which are important to them and this means that backing down indefinitely is not something they are willing to do.

I am not sure when Dong-joon (Lee Sang-yoon) went from backstabbing villain to a fighter for justice and moral standards, but this is a thing that is happening right now and so our lead is busier than usual. At the same time, Dong-joon is being way too cocky with even his own allies, willing and blackmailed, which is already starting to backfire. This does create tension, however, so it is a welcome flaw of his approach to things.
